Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about reading time . . .
Do you have a set reading time (before bed, perhaps)? Do you read more at night or during the day? Is there a day of the week, perhaps, that you set aside to catch up on reading?

Hmmm. I've always done most of my reading in bed at night. Over the past year or so, I've been waking up in the middle of the night and reading for an hour or two. If I don't wake up in the middle of the night, I like to read early in the morning before I get out of bed. If I have the time on a day off, I'll sack out for awhile in the afternoon; if nobody's home, I'll sack out on the couch. I hardly ever read while sitting in a chair. With two young children in the house, I don't get to read nearly as much as I used to or want to. Gone are the weekends of camping out on my bed with my Sharon Kay Penman or Margaret George historical, a few volumes of history, ancient and modern maps, and tour guides and totally immersing myself in another time and place. I guess I'll read like that again someday, but for now, I'm more likely to be sharing my bed with the Berenstain Bears then the British monarchy!
How about you? Where and when do you read?

I read every night in bed. That is where most of my reading takes place. I guess on a rainy day when I feel "blah", I grab my book :) I wish there were more hours in a day to read!!
I can read any time, any place, anything!
Mondays: Start of another week
I don't sleep well unless I read in bed a little bit before turning off the lights.
I always read a bit before bed even if it's just a chapter. I usually have a book with me all the time so I'll pick it up whenever I have a second but mostly I read at night when my dog settles down and finally goes to sleep up against my leg. lol.
I read before bed, too - and lately it's usually an audiobook, because once the kids are in bed and I'm finished up with whatever is on my plate, it's time to make lunches, and listening to an audiobook while I'm making their lunches is a lot more fun than doing it and not listening! So then I end up just continuing with the audiobook when I get upstairs. I remember with great fondness those days when I'd have swaths of time to stretch out and read a book ...
I read every night before bed, and sneak in what time I can during the day (in the car waiting for kids, etc.). I love afternoons to read on the weekend.
Wow, sounds like you used to really immerse yourself in the experience! I usually read in the early afternoon and evening, but I, too, don't really have as much time as I used to.
I read in bed.. usually before bed.. and on the weekends I lay sideways on my bed and read at intervals. I also read a day or two on my lunch hour. Usually I knit though as a counter stretch for being on the computer all day.
I used to read in bed but now I find myself falling asleep to quickly (ummm - can't get past one paragraph). So now I do most of my reading in the evening during all the commercials. There are so many commercials these days you can really get a lot of reading done!
