Teaser Tuesdays: GIRLS LIKE US by Sheila Weller

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Miz B. of Should Be Reading.

Want to play along?  Here's what to do:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"Joni’s Blue was in every way the counterpoint to Carole’s Tapestry. Whereas Tapestry was created in a sense of communality, Blue was recorded is almost utter privacy–so ‘transparent’ was Joni now that ‘if you looked at me, I would weep; we had to lock the doors to make that album. Nobody was allowed in’ except the backup musicians . . ."

Anna - never heard of them????? Well you might be too young!
I have seen this book, and it does look interesting.
I do hope you will be doing a full review on it.
I am a huge Carly Simon fan!

It must be their time--just saw a Carole King/James Taylor special on PBS recently, plus some lovely harmonies from them.

If you like dogs and mysteries you may enjoy my teaser for Spencer Quinn's Chet and Bernie mysteries: Summit Musings

That PBS Carole King/James Taylor special was FABULOUS! I love them both..the music of my youth.

I read Girls Like Us in late 2010, before I started posting reviews. I really enjoyed it, found the insights fascinating. I'm looking forward to your review.
